"Who Killed The Electric Car" documentary

Just bee surfing the net, and found a very interesting new documenary that has been releasedin the US called "Who Killed the Electric Car." The documentary addresses the making, and subsequent "crushing" of the EV1, a fully electric car produced by GM in 1996. According to the documentary, by 2004, all EV1's had been repossessed and many had been crushed and turned into scrap metal.

Even if not entirely true, it does raise some interesting questions about the future of the car market and alterative fuels. Take a look at http://www.sonyclassics.com/whokilledtheelectriccar/ for more info

Electric Car is Still Allive as the Xebra
ZAP makes an all electric 3-wheel vehicles that is classified as a motrcycle and can travel up to 40 miles and 40 mile range, but not both. If you drive the car fast the range is limited to an estimated 25 miles. The Xebra can be recharged just like your cell phone or iPod. It plugs in to any 110V outlet, and can recieve a quick 50% charge in 1 hour and can be fully charged in 6-8 hours. The Xebra uses 6 gel lead acid batteries, that are virtually maitanence free. With gas prices above the $3 mark and continously rising, the electric car is becoming a welcome alternative to a gas atomobile. Check out zapworld.com to find out more about the Xebra and ZAP's electric vehicles and personal transporters.
